Dear friends, The Scientific-technical library (STL) of Marine Hydrophysical Institute in Sevastopol was originated in 1944 based on a part of a library fund of the Marine hydrophysical laboratory in Moscow. The STL fund in MHI NASU amounts 109285 pcs of scientific and popular scientific editions including 24247 pcs of foreign ones. The basic directions of work of MHI STL are collection and processing of information on the Black and Azov seas and the World Ocean, and also bibliographical and information services for MHI scientists. The library fund is collected according to the following themes: sea dynamics and acoustics, shelf hydrophysics, climatology, ecological control of water environments, satellite oceanology, mathematics, physics, chemistry etc. At present the information potential of STL in MHI NASU represents the largest collection of the Ukrainian and foreign editions on oceanology, traditional and electronic databases. The staff of STL carries out bibliographical and information services for the scientists providing access to electronic on-line resources of the publishing houses Springer, Kluwer, Blackwell Scientific Publications (INTAS project) and Global On-line Research in Agriculture (FAO project).
